The Alliance s a good thing but the ACC (and VT's) problem is revenue and I dont see how The Alliance fixes that. Yes, maybe some cross conference scheduling, but I dont see the needle moving that much from that. Especially if what we saw in the Roanoke Times last week is what The Alliance is thinking about - who cares about the #2 and #4 public universities playing football against each other - who cares if VT play Colorado - NO ONE. The Alliance teams that the public wants to watch play each other are USC, Org., Ohio St, Mich., Penn St, Clem., Miami, VT - NOT UVA vs Cal or VT vs Col.
2. Please stop with the academic standards BS - you sound like UVA. At the end of the day, almost all P5 schools recruit the same players except maybe NW, Stanford, and Vandy - maybe.
3. The Alliance is walking a fine line about how they message their concern/interest in the Student Athlete - because the SEC could spin as "The Alliance wants to limit what $ the student athlete can earn. Come to the SEC and earn your value and prepare for the NFL"

Look, The Alliance is a good move, and probably one of the only options available, but I think you are overreaching if you think it is somehow going to save the ACC/PAC and put them on a equal level with the SEC and/or B1G. The B1G is not going to share revenue with the ACC/PAC and they are going to look out for what is best for the B1G.
